Greetings!
First, I would like to thank Betty Lou for the FINEST CHORD SITE
anywhere on the INTERNET! For the amount of time Betty Lou has
spent updating the site, creating small sections, uploading,
transposing, searching and doing EVERYTHING she does cannot even be
imagined. THANK YOU BETTY LOU!
I became acquainted
with this website about 5 years ago. I don't play guitar,
although I have always wanted to -- I play an instrument called a
QChord. One can use standard guitar chords, and be a musician.
I have created NOTEBOOKS of my favorite Betty Lou Tunes -- and have
had a ball with all the songs!
Betty Lou needed a new server to host her site, and I stepped up and
gave her space at no charge. Never had to ask for a cent, and
I never intended to.
My connection with
Betty is very small, actually. We have become email friends,
and I have valued every email of our friendship.
I laugh, and tease
her because, to tell you the truth, for her being a "client"
on my server, I know her only as Betty Lou. I'm not even
sure WHERE or WHAT COUNTRY she hails from! (And I really
DON'T want to know -- because it's WAY more fun with her being THE
MYSTERY she is!
And that has been the way it's been for the last 4 years...
This year has been
the toughest year of our last decade in the website/hosting section
of our business. Our costs have gone up, and we have had a
hard time making the ends meet. If you watch the news
you have seen that this is par for the course for just about all
trade here in the US. It's tough times for ALL of us.
For the first time in
4 years, I had to take a hard look at our client base, and the cost
for each.
Straight to the
point, Betty Lou's site has grown into a little MONSTER on our
server, with usage space and bandwidth. Think about it, she
updates a minimum of 10 pages a week, and has done so for as long as
I have known her. Multiply that by 4 years, and you start
seeing a large amount of pages.
I have VOWED to Betty
Lou, that AS LONG as I am able to keep hosting a server, she will
have a place here with me. I intend to honor that promise.
In order to achieve
this, I have set a GOAL of $500 a year to keep Betty's server
running at full operation without severely limiting her creativity
by space or bandwidth.
I told Betty, that I
would account for every cent donated, and would keep her and the
website visitors abreast of our progress. Hence
this page was created for the purpose of supporting Betty's work,
and keeping her work alive on this server.
I LOVE this website.
I'm a fan too, and you can REST ASSURED that I will do all I can to
support it.
If you can -- Join
with me in supporting this cause!
